COLINGDALE STATION
Client Brief
As part of the wider redevelopment of Colindale, new station building would replace the 1960s ticket hall, albeit located over the tracks rather than built to the side, as at present.
Challenge
- Zero tolerance for overrun due to station being out of service for works
- Small Out of Service Radius of 7.00m required
- 13.5t at the end of the jib
- Transport for London restrictions
- Working at night in residential area
Solution
Using our relationship with the crane manufacturer, we ensured that the crane had no more than a 7.00m Out of Service Radius and chose a crane from our fleet with a large enough capacity at the end. The crane was erected at night over the space of 5 days with a partial road closure in the road. Both LTC and the client ensured the crane worked to the Transport for London requirements with the de-rating.
