Client Brief
This landmark building is joint tallest (155m) in Birmingham. It is a unique 49-storey BtR development delivering 370 apartments (one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments), retail units, residents’ amenity spaces, and landscaped public realms.
Challenge
- Two cranes required to service building
- 5-6t at the end of the jib
- Over crane freestanding height
- Ceiling height restrictions for aircraft
Solution
LTC erected two luffers, climbed, and tied these to the building and once the ceiling height was reached each crane changed to a saddle and climbed to full height to stay under the airspace restriction. We selected the optimum craneage and used our experience to tie into the building.
